-The luckiest thing in my school days for 12 years

First of all, I am so honored to be here to tell my stories of Michuhol in front of you. I think among you guys, some would know me well and others would know me just as a tall French major girl. As a friend of you, I hope you would feel how fortunate and valuable you are through my speech.

Firstly, one of the reasons I chose this topic was because I felt I learned proper and authentic study. Actually, judging by what we have learned in this school. we did so many valuable activities that other general academic high schools students would never experience. There are two activities that remain in my memories. First one is during the two years I learned from Kim Mi Kyeong teacher. As some of you know, she liked presentation extremely. We needed to present what we thought, what we learned in English, At that moment, I thought it would better starve a week rather than present. Actually, eating is one of the important reasons why I live my life. Second one is debate performance test all of us did. I cautiously guess there is one people in this class who like debate, maybe Kim Sun Hyuk. I hated debate. However, as I took these hard classes I found myself being accustomed to these class and I was actively participating before I knew. Now, I come to think of the activities, I can understand Steve Job’s word ‘connect the dots’ in some degree. Even though they would remain in our memory badly, some day, or in he near future when we enter the university, i definitely assure that we will prove our real worth with theses experiences. So we are special and blessed.

Secondly, I am grateful to meet my real friends and teachers, commonly, when you think of French major which is famous for smart class, you might expect that they must be self-centered and individualistic. As one of the French major students, I can’t absolutely agree with that stereotype. I think we are complementary relation. There are two events that I was struck with my friends. First friend is my math mentor who has other four mentees including me. Whenever mentees ask her questions, even though the time was before two days of mid term exam and she distinctly ran out time to prepare exam, she sincerely answer without feeling uneasiness. It was the first time I felt respect to the same age. Second event. During presentation that one friend expressed herself, she who likes philosophical thoughts told us her own philosophy of art “Art is to feel catharsis through reaching the limit of emotion” After her presentation, I was fascinated by that phrase and I also wanted to be a person thinking deeply. So I tried to read a difficult book I have rarely tried and I was involved in books. Recently, I read ‘Harvard’s thinking class’ and I thought deeply about several topics such as ‘what I know certainly’, ‘what is the nation’, ‘the evil of equality’. Even now, I try to contemplate everything despite of trivial thing.

 I think I could learn these lessons because I am in Michuhol. Even though my grade doesn’t meet my satisfaction, I’ve never regretted coming this school. After entering this school, my motto has changed from’ be brave to ‘repay as much as I received’. Because I got much help in this school from friends as well as from teachers. Therefore, I think I am fortunate person. This applies to you. Ultimately, we are all blessed and valuable.
